Description from the seller
Small Japanese-style vase model 'Violettes' from the early period of brothers Auguste and Antonin Daum, before perfecting their technique and influenced by the art nouveau japonism style. Their production was limited to the period from 1890 to 1900.
Uranium-colored crystal carefully hand-cut and hand-painted multicolored flowers. It is an extremely rare model that cannot be missing from exquisite Daum Nancy collections.
The vase is in excellent condition, with no chips, but shows discoloration of the gold paint characteristic of Daum on the edge of the upper rim of the vase. This is normal due to the passage of time.
At the bottom, it does not show a signature. It’s possible that the signature was in gold and has been erased due to wear over the years, or simply, like many early Daum production pieces, it does not have a signature. However, there is no doubt that it is a 100% original vase of excellent production quality. On the internet, there is a sold example (in Japan) that is identical in shape, color, and floral details to the one offered, which shows the subtle acid signature of Daum Nancy at the base.
A rare collector's piece
Weight: approximately 297 grams.
Height - approximately 11 cm.
Diameter - approx. 11 cm.
