Original gravure by Belgian artist René Carcan (1920–1993), titled Le corsage du ciel, unsigned by hand but signed, with frame, in excellent condition, depicting a landscape, measuring about 30.5 × 38.5 cm (54.5 × 62 cm framed).

René Carcan (1920-1993)
René Carcan was a Belgian engraver, painter and sculptor, born in Brussels in 1920 and died in 1993. An important figure of burin engraving and etching in the second half of the 20th century, he is known for his immediately recognizable universe: soft light, Mediterranean architectures, gardens, stylized trees, poetic geometry.
He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Brussels and then at La Cambre, where he received solid training in graphic arts. His early works are marked by rigorous drawing and great attention to composition.
Rémy Carcan dies in 1993. In 2003, an International René Carcan Prize for Engraving is created to encourage contemporary creation in the field of artistic printmaking, extending his influence.
