Description from the seller
GENERAL:
We present a unique opportunity for classic enthusiasts: an exceptional 1983 Renault 5 Copa Turbo in impeccable condition. This model is a true milestone in the history of compact sport motor racing, derived from the Renault 5 but with an aggressive design and a purely performance-focused ethos. With only two owners in its entire history, this unit represents a true jewel for collectors, combining the spirit of 1980s rallying with fully documented provenance.
Bodywork and Painting
Its bodywork is in very good condition and, most importantly, it has never suffered any accidents or structural damage. The vehicle was repainted in full in 2019 following its original specifications, and since then it has been driven very little, maintaining an excellent shine and finish. The iconic design with angular lines and retro styling remains true to how it came from the factory.
Mechanics
The heart of this car is its turbocharged engine, designed to deliver an exciting and dynamic driving experience. Mechanically, the vehicle has been carefully maintained; the powerful engine starts easily when cold, shows no leaks or losses of any kind, and does not emit any unusual exhaust fumes. On the road it demonstrates its full, characteristic power. Likewise, the brakes and all safety components have been inspected, are in perfect condition, and perform their function perfectly.
Interior:
The interior is in a state fully in keeping with its years and mileage. It remains completely original, with no missing parts or broken elements. The cabin preserves the original atmosphere of the compact sports cars of the era, reflecting the care it has received from its two previous owners.
DOCUMENTATION:
This Renault 5 Copa Turbo preserves its original configuration and has received regular maintenance to ensure its preservation. The vehicle is ready to be transferred, offering the reassurance of a clear ownership history and a well-maintained mechanical condition.
PICKUP:
The vehicle is available for inspection and pickup. Because it is such an emblematic and well-preserved model, it is recommended to arrange personal pickup or specialized transport to ensure the car remains in its current condition.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Introduced in 1983, the Copa Turbo was created mainly for competition, leaving an indelible mark on the World Rally Championship (WRC). This particular model is perfect for both collectors seeking an investment piece and enthusiasts who want to experience the nimble handling and notable power that cemented Renault's reputation. Do not miss the opportunity to be part of the Renault 5 Copa Turbo legend.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
