1981 Mercedes-Benz 280 SLC with automatic transmission, petrol, green, 2,746 cc, 185 hp, 182,295 km, located in the Netherlands with Swedish registration; CoC not present and no valid MOT.
Description from the seller
This beautiful Mercedes 280 SLC is a delightful cruiser, also because of its wonderfully shifting automatic transmission. It was built in 1981 and has been driven in Sweden since 1989; it has recently been exported to the Netherlands.
It is still a beautiful sight and has become a lovely classic car, still attracting as much attention and driving as wonderfully as when it was new. It has been used sparingly, with a mileage of 182,290 km, which seems accurate. It has undergone a Swedish technical inspection and is approved until May 21, 2027.
Documents
The car can be delivered for an additional 50 euros with Swedish EU Export documents, allowing a potential foreign new owner to easily register the car in their country. The Bilprovning certificate (the technical inspection document) is also included.
Bodywork
Very neat. The car looks truly stunning, approximately 20 years ago it was painted in the current green metallic color, very neatly done with only minor imperfections and a few rust spots. The underside is reasonable and can easily be further improved. The car has always been well cared for.
Technical
The car starts immediately and drives well. The previous owner replaced various mechanical parts, including the exhaust system, brake calipers and discs, as well as the front and rear springs. There is a CD player installed in the car with large amplifiers in the trunk. When used simultaneously with the electric sunroof, a fuse can blow. The interior fan works but does not produce heat, probably because the heater radiator has been bypassed. The ignition switch and key have been replaced, and there are two sets of keys.
A minor maintenance is recommended because the car has been used hardly at all recently. This applies to every used car, including this Mercedes.
Interior
The interior looks very neat. The seats and the dashboard have been reupholstered some time ago. The rear seat is also very attractive, as are the door panels and the headliner.
Transport:
The car is located in Hengevelde, Netherlands, and can naturally be picked up here. The car can be delivered within the Netherlands for an additional 150 euros (excluding the Wadden Islands).
The seller can have the car delivered relatively inexpensively across the entire EU by a professional carrier.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
