DF 8x30 vintage binoculars dating from 1970–1980, physically in good condition and functionally not tested, with 8x magnification, Porro prism optics and a rugged rubber-coated body.
Description from the seller
General Description: In an auction, an interesting vintage binocular characterized by a robust 'armor' construction (rubber armor with vertical ribs), typical of military or professional maritime use in the second half of the 20th century. The design closely recalls the style of German optics (Steiner or Hensoldt) or NATO equipment of the era.
Technical Features
Optical System: Porro Prisms.
Focus: Independent diopter adjustment on each eyepiece (Individual Focus - IF). This system is indicative of professional/military use to ensure maximum waterproofing and structural robustness, eliminating the movable central bridge.
Coating: The hull is fully wrapped in impact-resistant rubber in olive/dark green, with ribbed texture for a secure grip.
Magnification: 8x30
Accessories: Complete with the original shoulder strap in vintage plastic/rubberized material.
Condition Report: The item is presented in its original 'as found' condition (as found).
Aesthetics: The body shows signs of wear and a patina consistent with age and field use. The rubber shows areas of oxidation (slight whitening, visible in the photo) typical of materials from the era, which confirms its vintage authenticity. There do not appear to be any obvious structural cracks.
Optics: The view appears sharp, despite possible light internal dust due to age.
Note for the Collector: A piece with a strong aesthetic character, ideal for a militaria collection, for display or as a base for conservation restoration. The hefty construction suggests a provenance from military surplus or government supplies.
