Steinkopf - Dogon - Mali

An extensive old collection is being offered for sale in individual parts.

These are stone-made objects from the Dogon people of Mali.
The sculpted stones depict anthropomorphic and zoomorphic figures, spirit beings, and faces.
They are between 10 cm and 100 cm tall and were involved in an individualized cult.
Objects of this kind had remained unknown to science up to now. A pictorial book "Die steinernen Wächter der Dogon" with results of independently conducted research has been published by LIT-Verlag.
