Description from the seller
Title: Silent Balance
Artist: V. Altieri
Technique: Oil on panel
Dimensions: 40x40 cm
In this oil on board of 40 by 40 cm, V. Altieri constructs a composition of intense introspection, where the painting material itself becomes emotional language and the structure of the soul. The square surface hosts an essential but deeply evocative formal arrangement: the color fields articulate a calibrated dialogue between fullness and emptiness, between tension and suspension.
The color unfolds with a controlled gesture, alternating soft glazes with thicker applications, where the spatula and the brush leave tangible traces of the creative process. The tones blend naturally, generating chromatic vibrations that suggest depth and movement while maintaining a quiet balance. The shades, never loud, build a gathered, almost meditative atmosphere.
The light does not come from a defined source, but seems to emerge from within the very matter, insinuating itself among its stratifications and creating zones of slight luminous tension. The contrasts are measured with sensitivity, avoiding any geometric rigidity to foster a fluid perception of space.
The work, in its compact dimensions, invites close observation: it is in the proximity that the ripples of the surface, the overlapped transparencies, and the small imperfections reveal themselves, lending authenticity and rhythm. The square format reinforces the sense of stability and concentration, transforming the panel into a field of restrained energy.
As a whole, the painting presents itself as a suspended balance between abstraction and emotional suggestion, a fragment of visual silence that captures the gaze and leads it toward an intimate and contemplative dimension.
