Chinese Paper-Cuts by Yangchow, 1st Edition Thus (1956) in a portfolio binding, containing 19 Chinese paper-cut artworks with chrysanthemums, plus an introductory booklet, published by The Art Service Department, Union of Chinese Artists, in Chinese, English, German, and French with the original language Chinese; the set is housed in the original cardboard folder (29 x 22.5 cm) and is in good condition aside from light discolouration of the folder.

Beijing, Art Services Department, Chinese Artists Association, 1956. Includes 19 traditional Chinese Yangchow paper cuts, mostly depicting chrysanthemums. 29 x 22.5 cm. Housed together in original cardboard folder decorated with a green foliage pattern, with a traditional characteristic closure with two loops and catches. Includes an introductory booklet with an overview of the Chinese folk art of paper cutting, highlighting its widespread popularity, the different styles, regions, and its deep cultural significance as an expression of the feelings, hopes, and ideals of the Chinese people.
Condition: Folder slightly discolored, else very good.
