Antique Silver Baby Rattle with Teething Ring – Decorative Relief – Early 20th Century
Portugal assay mark (1985-2020), 835/000, and same date marker's mark.
Charming antique silver baby rattle featuring a classic bell-shaped form with finely detailed relief decoration and an attached teething ring.
The silver body is richly ornamented with floral and foliate motifs in relief, arranged in decorative panels, demonstrating refined silversmith craftsmanship. The surface retains a soft natural patina consistent with age. The rattle is fitted with a light-colored teething ring, traditionally made from bone or early synthetic material, typical of early 20th-century nursery items.
Both decorative and collectible, this piece reflects the tradition of gifting finely crafted silver objects to commemorate early childhood.
