Pietro Fight - "Equilibrio.01"

Important note: for safety reasons and to reduce shipping costs, the canvas will be sent rolled in a rigid tube (no frame). The shipment will be trackable; once received, the work can be stretched/framed by a framer. There is a margin of about 8 cm of unpainted canvas to facilitate the stretching. Unique and original work, signed on the back, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist (with a personalized stamp).

DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK BY THE ARTIST

“Equilibrio.01” is a piece divided into two parts, as if two different states placed side by side.

On the left there is the heavier part, dominated by black: a large dark square that, to me, is almost a block, something compact and still. Inside, a white circle breaks that mass and creates a breath point: small, but decisive, because it is enough to lighten and open the space.

To the right the sensation changes. Here white breathes more: black is still present, even in abundance, but it is no longer a single field. It distributes into a weave of signs, leaves passages, pauses, gaps. This half is less “block” and more movement, more rhythm, more dynamic.

The canvas is thus divided in two, but the two parts have one thing in common: the circle. It is what links these two worlds and holds the work together, like a point of balance between weight and breath, density and space.

ARTIST

I am Pietro Fight, a visual artist based in Milan. My research is a “gesture writing”: signo-calligraphic abstractions in which circular modules and lattices of marks build rhythm, density, and breath. I am interested in weight in space, the balance between filled and empty, between accumulation and suspension, between the intensity of the mark and zones of visual silence. This language was born in 2020, during the Covid period, transforming the boredom of daily routine repeated into construction and variation. Even though the method is repetitive, every work remains unreproducible, because every circle and every trace are always different.
