Micol Forti (Rome, 1964) is a respected historian of modern and contemporary art, head of the Vatican Museums' Contemporary Art Collection.
Trained at a School of Specialization and a Doctorate, she has solidified her academic profile at Sapienza University in Rome, where she held the position of lecturer in Artistic Literature and Museology, focusing her research on critical thinking and the expressive currents of the 20th century.
In an institutional capacity, since 2016 she has held the role of Consultor at the Pontifical Council for Culture, within which she is also an active member of the Permanent Female Consultative Council.
Her international activity with the Venice Biennale is notable: she was curator of the Holy See Pavilion in 2015 (56th edition) and Executive Director for the pavilion's debut in 2013 (55th edition).
