Karl Lagasse, a renowned artist, gained fame in 2009 with his One Dollar sculptures, ranking among the ten best sculptors under 30 years old that year according to Artprice. In 2012, the New York publication Farameh named him as one of the fifty best contemporary artists, inspired by traditional American icons, in its book FOR WHICH IT STANDS: Americana in Contemporary Art. More recently, in 2016, at the Art Paris Art Fair, the President of the French Republic warmly congratulated Karl on his impressive two-meter bronze sculpture One Dollar, displayed at the Grand Palais.

Karl’s artistic journey began at age 7 with collages, prompted by his meeting with sculptor César Baldaccini. He later turned to tagging and graffiti in the Paris metro while maintaining a passion for collages. Artist Yvaral Vasarely encouraged him to merge his tags with his collages. In 2003, Karl prepared his first exhibition in Paris, which led to his first solo show in 2006 at the Isy Brachot gallery in Brussels. In 2008, he returned to Paris with an exhibition combining paintings, sculptures, and video elements at the Espace Pierre Cardin.

2026: - Finalization of the work One Dollar Green Bronze 8 meters tall, weighing 7 tons. The world's largest One Dollar sculpture created by the artist.

2025: - Installation of the monumental work Reflection of the Sun. Installed near the brand-new Pavillon des Bains on the Promenade Michel d'Ornano, inaugurated by mayor Philippe Augier on September 8.

2024: - Art Miami - Group exhibitions Galerie Nicolas Auvray New York. For the occasion, a bronze cryptogram of 1m80 and a 2-meter One Dollar were exhibited during the event.
- 50th anniversary of the Deauville American Film Festival, during which the artist created 18 bronze trophies and a 2-meter sculpture to be installed at the CID. Interviewed artists about the artist and who received the trophy include: Michael Douglas, Daisy Ridley, Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Mikey Madison...

2023: - Aspen Saint Regis: Installation of the 2-meter One Dollar sculpture in front of the St. Regis. The Aspen Times covered the event in a dedicated article.
- Rapper Rick Ross posed with a special St. Regis edition One Dollar.

2022: - New York: Times Square, NY, projection on Nasdaq screen of the work “A One Dollar in the Cyberspace City.”

2021: - New studio in Austin, Texas, USA.
- Solo exhibition of the artist.

2020: - Beginning work on the largest piece ever created by the artist: the One Dollar Bronze Green 8 Meters.

2019: - Deauville American Film Festival: the artist created a new sculpture, depicting his dollar engraved in aluminum.

2017: - Karl Lagasse succeeds Cartier in creating the Deauville American Film Festival trophies.

2016: - Art Fair Paris at Grand Palais
- A two-meter-tall “One Dollar,” fully bronze, was exhibited at Art Paris. The French president visited the exhibition and personally congratulated the artist for his work.
- First in Spain at Marbella’s Atrium gallery, solo exhibition with new collections in the presence of international press and the mayor of the city, Jose Bernal Gutierrez. Special performance by his wife, opera singer Cherise Lagasse, who performed pieces from her repertoire.

2015: - Second collaboration with Maserati, creating a monumental installation titled “A Piece of Heaven on Earth.” This work features a Maserati draped in white plastic film and a sculpture of Jesus Christ. Around the car, several dollar-bill sculptures are placed on the ground, symbolizing the repayment of humanity’s largest debt.

2014: - Maserati presents the world premiere of the Maserati Ghibli reimagined by Karl Lagasse for the brand’s 100th anniversary.
- Solo exhibition at the Italian Embassy in Paris. The Italian ambassador to France hosted a dinner in his presence, surrounding the artist’s works.

2013: - Collective exhibition Automobile Club de France, Place de la Concorde, Paris.

2012: - Karl donated to the city of Deauville a bronze Cryptogram One sculpture, permanently at the city entrance.
- For Cannes’ 65th anniversary, Karl created a sculpture “Building” composed of a photo collage tracing the festival’s history.
