Portuguese solid silver plate. Portuguese standard mark, 19th century, 800/000 fineness, and the corresponding date mark.
Offered at auction, an elegant 19th-century Portuguese solid silver plate, beautifully decorated with a combination of engraved motifs and relief floral ornaments. The design features radiating petal-shaped segments, each engraved with a stylized foliate pattern, framed by roses and buds finely modelled along the outer edge.
This type of craftsmanship is characteristic of 19th-century Portuguese silversmithing, known for its rich ornamental details and the harmonious balance between engraving and relief work.
