An Argento liturgical chalice dating to the early 19th century (estimated period 1800-1850) with a plain cup, a knotted central motif and a shaped base, from Italy, weighing 250 g and measuring 25 cm high, 10 cm in cup diameter and 5 cm in depth and width, in good condition with normal signs of aging.

Donation “Maria della Grazia” – Rosa Andreozzi
Southern Bourbon area – Kingdom of the Two Sicilies
Liturgical chalice in punched silver, dated 1856, attributable to the production of southern Italy in the Bourbon era (Kingdom of the Two Sicilies).
The chalice features a smooth cup of classical shape, a central modanato knop and a shaped base with engraved decorations. The type and ornamental apparatus are coherent with the southern silversmithing tradition of the mid-19th century.
On the body is incised the following votive inscription:
“MARIA DELLA GRAZIA FATTA A DIVOZIONE DI ROSA ANDREOZZI ANNO 1856”
The dedication documents a private devotional donation.
Punch marks present:
• punch in a square/rectangular cartouche with symbols/ crosses (control or assay mark), partially worn but legible;
• punch with initial “D” in a cartouche, likely a workshop/silversmith mark.
