Halisaurus specimen from the Upper Cretaceous (100.5–66 million years ago), origin Morocco, restored condition, measuring 66 cm high, 60 cm wide and 24 cm deep.
Description from the seller
A long-extinct apex predator, in fact Halisaurus was such an intense predator that if it were still swimming our oceans, the Megalodon might never have existed! These nightmarish sea creatures were actually gigantic lizards that somewhat resembled the land-dwelling Komodo dragon. Imagine a lizard monster with the double hinge jaw of a snake, with enormous teeth and a tail like a shark… oh and they could grow up to 8 meters long (depending on the species)! So they really ate anything they wanted (fish, dolphins, whales, sharks, even other individuals). Fossils of this species have been found on every continent, including Antarctica, evidence that these lizard kings dominated the ocean.
The Halisaurus is a smaller cousin from the same mosasaur family.
This specimen is of exceptional quality ….
Delivery within the Benelux .. outside the Benelux, pickup is required in the Rotterdam area
Height with standard 52 cm / length of Platecarpus 43 cm / width 16 cm
