AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

OVERVIEW/CONDITIONS
Splendid example of Jaguar XJS 3.6 manual in the rare red color with tobacco interior.

The car presents itself very well on the outside. It has no scratches or notable marks. The paint is solid and glossy and, apart from a small cut near the indicator on the front right fender, the entire exterior is in excellent condition. There is no rust and, from an inspection carried out, no accidents involving the car are on record. No repairs or repainted parts are reported. The bumpers are very sound as are the tires mounted on them. The lighting, both front and rear, functions well. All seals are healthy and in good condition. The glazing, original to the car, works without defects. Underneath the car it is sound with very good underbody condition and total absence of rust.

Technically the car has shown no problems of any kind. The engine starts well even when cold, the car brakes well and the manual gearbox engages smoothly and works well. The clutch is still in good condition as are the tires. The car has no leaks and the engine idles well. We performed a check of all fluids while the oil filter and engine oil were replaced approximately 2000 km ago. However, a further and more thorough check-up before putting it on the road and a general service are recommended.

Inside the leather takes precedence. The upholstery is really well preserved, the seats are comfortable and enveloping, the woods and plastics are sound and there are no rips or damages to report. The dashboard is sound with no sign of wear, the carpet is in excellent condition and of a nice brown color, the door panels are sound both in paint and in interior upholstery with all leather coverings completely intact and without tears. From the door edge cuts one can see the excellent preservation of the vehicle as well as from the door trims which are sound and, in fact, one of them still retains the original cellophane from when it left the dealership.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
