Karl Lagasse, a renowned artist, gained notoriety in 2009 with his One Dollar sculptures, ranking that year among the ten best sculptors under 30 according to Artprice. In 2012, the New York publication Farameh named him as one of the fifty best contemporary artists, inspired by traditional American icons, in its book FOR WHICH IT STANDS: Americana in Contemporary Art. More recently, in 2016, at the Art Paris Art Fair, the President of the French Republic warmly congratulated Karl for his impressive 2-meter bronze sculpture One Dollar, exhibited at the Grand Palais.

Karl’s artistic journey began at age 7 with collages, sparked by his meeting with sculptor César Baldaccini. He later turned to tagging and graffiti in the Paris metro, while remaining passionate about collages. The artist Yvaral Vasarely encouraged him to fuse his tags with his collages. In 2003, Karl prepared his first exhibition in Paris, which led to his first solo show in 2006 at the Isy Brachot gallery in Brussels. In 2008, he returned to Paris with an exhibition combining paintings, sculptures, and video elements at Espace Pierre Cardin.

2026:
- Finalization of the work One Dollar Green Bronze 8 meters 7 tons. The largest One Dollar sculpture in the world created by the artist.

2025:
- Installation of the monumental work Reflection of the Sun. Installed near the newly built Pavillon des Bains, on the Promenade Michel d’Ornano, inaugurated by Mayor Philippe Augier on September 8.

2024:
- Art Miami - Group exhibitions Nicolas Auvray Gallery New York. For the occasion, a bronze cryptogram of 1.80 m and a 2-meter One Dollar were exhibited during the event.
- 50th anniversary of the Deauville American Film Festival; for the occasion, the artist created 18 bronze trophies and a 2-meter sculpture to be installed at the CID. Guests interviewed about the artist and who received the trophy include: Michael Douglas, Daisy Ridley, Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Mikey Madison...

2023:
- Aspen Saint Regis: Installation of the 2-meter One Dollar in front of the St Regis. The Aspen Times covered the event in a dedicated article.
- Rapper Rick Ross posed with a special St Regis edition One Dollar.

2022:
- New York: Times Square, NY City, projection on the Nasdaq screen of the work “A One Dollar in the Cyberspace City.”
- American Film Festival trophies presented to Thandiwe Newton, Jesse Eisenberg, Ana de Armas…

2021:
- New studio in Austin, Texas, USA.
- Solo exhibition of the artist.

- Beginning work on the largest piece ever created by the artist: the One Dollar Bronze Green 8 Meters.

2017:
- Karl Lagasse succeeds the prestigious Cartier House in creating the Deauville American Film Festival trophies.

2016:
- Art Fair Paris at the Grand Palais
- A two-meter-tall bronze One Dollar was exhibited at the Art Paris fair.
- The French president visited the exhibition and personally congratulated the artist for his work.
- First time in Spain at the Marbella Atrium gallery, solo exhibition with new collections in the presence of international press and the mayor of the city, Jose Bernal Gutierrez. A special performance by his wife, opera singer Cherise Lagasse, who performed pieces from her repertoire.

2015:
- Second collaboration with Maserati with the creation of a monumental installation entitled “A Piece of Heaven on Earth.” This work features a Maserati covered with a white plastic film and a sculpture of Jesus Christ. Around the car, several dollar bill sculptures are placed on the ground, symbolizing the repayment of humanity’s largest debt.

2014:
- Maserati unveiled worldwide the Maserati Ghibli reimagined by Karl Lagasse for the brand’s 100th anniversary.
- Solo exhibition at the Italian Embassy in Paris. The Italian ambassador to France organized a dinner in his presence, around the artist’s works.

2013:
- Collective exhibition Automobile Club de France, Place de la Concorde, Paris.

2012:
- Karl gifted the city of Deauville a Crytogram One bronze sculpture, permanently at the city’s entrance.
- For the 65th Cannes Film Festival, Karl created a sculpture “Building” made from a collage of photos tracing the festival’s key moments.
