Conversely, if both packaging and content are damaged, you must refuse the package without hesitation. Karl Lagasse, a renowned artist, rose to prominence in 2009 with his One Dollar sculptures, ranking among the top ten sculptors under 30 according to Artprice the same year. In 2012, the New York publication Farameh named him one of the fifty best contemporary artists, inspired by traditional American icons, in its book FOR WHICH IT STANDS: Americana in Contemporary Art. More recently, in 2016, at the Art Paris Art Fair, the President of the French Republic warmly congratulated Karl on his impressive 2-meter bronze sculpture One Dollar, exhibited at the Grand Palais.

Karl’s artistic journey began at age 7 with collages, encouraged by his encounter with sculptor César Baldaccini. He later turned to tagging and graffiti in the Paris Metro while remaining passionate about collages. Artist Yvaral Vasarely encouraged him to merge his tags with his collages. In 2003, Karl prepared his first exhibition in Paris, which led to his first solo show in 2006 at the Isy Brachot gallery in Brussels. In 2008, he returned to Paris with an exhibition blending paintings, sculptures, and video elements at Espace Pierre Cardin.

2026:
- Finalization of the work One Dollar Green Bronze 8 meters, 7 tons. The largest One Dollar sculpture in the world created by the artist.

2025:
- Installation of the monumental work Reflection of the Sun. Installed near the brand-new Pavillon des Bains, on the Promenade Michel d’Ornano, inaugurated by Mayor Philippe Augier on September 8.

2024:
- Art Miami – Group exhibitions Galerie Nicolas Auvray New York. For the occasion, a bronze cryptogram of 1.8 m and a 2-meter One Dollar were exhibited during the event.
- 50th anniversary of the Deauville American Film Festival; for the occasion, the artist created 18 bronze trophies as well as a 2-meter sculpture to be installed at the CID. Interviewed artists about the artist and who received the trophy include: Michael Douglas, Daisy Ridley, Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Mikey Madison...

2023:
- Aspen Saint Regis: Installation of the 2-meter One Dollar sculpture in front of the St. Regis. The Aspen Times covered the event in a dedicated article.
- Rapper Rick Ross posed with a special edition St. Regis One Dollar.

2022:
- New York: Times Square, NY City, projection on the Nasdaq screen of the work “A One Dollar in the Cyberspace City.”
- American Film Festival trophies were given to Thandiwe Newton, Jesse Eisenberg, Ana de Armas…

2021:
- New studio in Austin, Texas, USA.
- Solo exhibition of the artist.
- Finalization of the sculpture “Ascension of Christ” after several years of work.
- Moulding at Fonderia Del Chiaro (Italy) Pietrasanta.

2020:
- Beginning work on the artist’s largest piece ever created: the One Dollar Bronze Green 8 Meters.
- Deauville American Film Festival: he creates a new sculpture in collaboration with the town of Deauville, inspired by the Deauville promenade barriers (the planks).

2019:
- Deauville American Film Festival: the artist created a new sculpture, depicting his dollar engraved in aluminum.

2018:
- Creation of a new sculpture for the Deauville American Film Festival trophy; among the artists who received the artist’s trophy sculpture are: Morgan Freeman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Elle Fanning, Jason Clarke, and many others...
- Group exhibitions Galerie Art Expo.
- Several One Dollar sculptures by the artist exhibited inside the Royal Monceau Hotel.
- The artist painted a monumental piece on a 54-meter wall, Psalm 4, at the Street Art Museum in Brussels.

2017:
- Karl Lagasse succeeds the prestigious Cartier House in creating the trophies for the Deauville American Film Festival.

2016:
- Art Fair Paris at the Grand Palais
- A two-meter-tall One Dollar, entirely bronze, was exhibited at the Art Paris fair.
- The French president visited the exhibition and personally congratulated the artist for his work.
- Spain premiere at Atrium Gallery in Marbella, solo exhibition with new collections in the presence of international press and the city’s mayor, Jose Bernal Gutierrez. Special performance by his wife, opera singer Cherise Lagasse, who performed pieces from her repertoire.

2015:
- Second collaboration with Maserati, creating a monumental installation entitled “A Piece of Heaven on Earth.” This work features a Maserati draped in white film and a sculpture of Jesus Christ. Around the car, several dollar-bill sculptures lie on the ground, symbolizing the repayment of humanity’s greatest debt

2014:
- Maserati unveils worldwide the Maserati Ghibli reimagined by Karl Lagasse for the brand’s 100th anniversary.
- Solo exhibition at the Italian Embassy in Paris. The Italian ambassador to France hosted a dinner in his presence, featuring the artist’s works.

2013:
- Collective exhibition Automobile Club of France, Place de la Concorde, Paris.

2012:
- Karl donated to the city of Deauville a Crytogram One bronze sculpture, permanently at the town’s entrance.
- For the 65th Cannes Film Festival, Karl created a sculpture “Building” composed of a collage of photos retracing the festival’s historic moments.
