Commemorative coin issued by the Central Bank of Peru to honor the centennial of the Campaña de la Breña, one of the most notable episodes of the War of the Pacific, led by General Andrés A. Cáceres. The obverse presents a detailed and highly expressive portrait of the Peruvian military leader, with excellent definition in the facial features and the uniform, while the reverse shows the finely worked national coat of arms, flanked by laurel and palm branches. The piece retains an attractive original luster, with well-preserved fields and crisp reliefs, showing only light marks typical of the MS63 grade, making it a solid and highly representative piece of contemporary Peruvian commemorative numismatics.
