A highly original and characterful antique coffee table in solid oak, dating circa 1780–1850. The top is formed from multiple wide oak planks, beautifully timeworn and richly patinated, resting on an elegant trestle base with shaped supports and a distinctive scalloped stretcher. The craftsmanship is honest and architectural, with visible hand-tool marks, traditional joinery and centuries of natural ageing. The surface displays an exceptional depth of colour, with age cracks, minor historic repairs and wear fully consistent with its period, all contributing to its authentic charm.
