Description from the seller
Pair of magnificent Victorian chairs 'ballloom' with hollow-paddle seats and classic domed backs, in mahogany, from the late 19th century, circa 1880
The chairs feature the classic Victorian 'ballloom' style, recognizable by their distinctive curved and rounded back that narrows at the waist and is defined by a crossbar.
They are crafted in beautiful solid mahogany, a wood known for its durability, dimensional stability, and a rich reddish-brown tone that develops a lovely patina with time. The chairs have a curved seat profile resting on four cabriole legs.
The front legs are elegantly turned, while the rear legs are slightly curved (saber-shaped). They are reupholstered in a beautiful, contemporary French green-check fabric, a fabric with a small check pattern called Vichy in France, which provides comfort and a modern look.
Shipping will be paid by the buyer according to the dimensions, weight, and destination. We will contact you to arrange it and agree on the estimate. Shipping costs include professional custom packaging; and personalized shipping, with tracking number and warranty. It is preferred to arrange shipping with the buyer.
