A complete pair of chrome table lamp bases by Josef Busch from Germany dating to 1980–1990, in excellent condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
I am pleased to present a rare opportunity to acquire a complete pair (2 pieces) of luxurious table lamp bases, an outstanding example of German lighting design from the 1980s. The offered pieces originate from the esteemed Josef Busch manufactory, which was based in Ense, Germany. These models, especially when kept as a pair, are now virtually unparalleled on the European antique market, giving them a remarkable collection value and making them a secure investment for lovers of Hollywood Regency and Mid-Century Modern aesthetics.
The lamp architecture impresses with a monumental columnar form standing 34 cm high and 12 cm wide. The body of each consists of precisely mounted chromed rods, which, together with the central shaft, create a hypnotic play of light and reflections. The use of high-quality mirror-polished chrome is a hallmark of the German school of craftsmanship from Ense, ensuring durability and enduring brilliance for decades. Technically, both lamps are fully electrically functional and suitable for operation at 220V (cable length 1.5 m). The solid fittings allow for shades up to 60W; modern LED light sources are recommended for an optimal lighting effect without heating the structure. The sale consists of the bases only (no shades), which gives the new owner unlimited possibilities for personalization and adaptation to a specific interior—from classical cylindrical white shades to contemporary forms in deep black with a gold interior. Given the rarity of identical pairs signed by Josef Busch, this is a proposal aimed at the most discerning decorators and collectors who seek symmetry, authenticity, and the highest quality craftsmanship “Made in West Germany.” These sculptural objects will dominate the living room, study, or bedroom space with their form and prestige.
