Description from the seller
Large Neoclassical vase in white glazed earthenware
Elegant vase with a Neoclassical-style lid, made in white glazed earthenware during the 19th century. The slender, well-proportioned form recalls archaeological Greco-Roman models, highly appreciated in the 1800s, reinterpreted with balance and decorative sobriety.
The body is animated by vertical beading that gives rhythm and movement to the surface. The central band is enriched by a relief frieze with stylized botanical motifs, framed by a double row of pearls, a typical element of the Neoclassical ornamental repertoire. The side handles with a geometric motif recall ancient aesthetics, while the lid is topped by a stylized pinecone-shaped knob, a detail of refined plastic elegance. The square base completes the composition with solidity and formal coherence.
At the base there is an incised mark in the paste that is not fully legible. Based on the paste characteristics, the quality of the earthenware, the type of glaze, and the decorative language, the work can plausibly be attributed to Este production in the 19th century, an area known for Neoclassical-style earthenware manufactories.
Dimensions: height 36 cm; maximum width 14 cm.
Very good overall condition for its age. As shown in the photographs, there is a very small chip at the base, barely perceptible to the naked eye and not compromising the visual harmony or the stability of the piece. There are light, physiological traces of time consistent with its age.
A striking display piece, ideal for classic or eclectic interiors, capable of dialoguing with antique and contemporary furnishings with sober authority.
The photos are an integral part of the description. Guaranteed careful packaging entrusted to sector professionals.
