Description from the seller
Description
A refined Chinese porcelain saucer from the late Kangxi period (1662–1722), decorated in underglaze cobalt blue. The central scene depicts a solitary monk walking across a bridge within a serene landscape setting — a poetic and contemplative composition typical of early Qing decorative themes.
The reverse is not painted in blue but finished with a warm Batavia glaze (also known as café au lait), creating a beautiful contrast with the crisp blue decoration on the front. This combination is characteristic of export wares from the late Kangxi period.

Late Kangxi period, Qing dynasty (1662–1722)
Measurements
Diameter: 13.5 cm
Condition
One chip, visible in the photographs. No restorations. Please refer carefully to the images for details.
All objects are packed with the greatest care and shipped fully insured. All objects are examined carefully under strong UV light. The condition is described with great care, aiming to reflect the actual state of the object as closely as possible.
