Alexandre Petrus (1988) - LE PAPILLON

INFORMATIONS TECHNIQUES Title : Le Papillon Artist : Alexandre Petrus Technique : Hand-cut stencil, spray paint and acrylic Support : Cotton canvas on wooden stretcher Dimension : 30 x 22 x 1 cm Year of creation : 2026 Signature : Hand-signed, AP monogram on the front Authenticity : Certificate of authenticity included Condition : Excellent condition ABOUT THE ARTWORK “Le Papillon” explores transformation, fragility and silent strength. Captured mid-flight, just above a delicate flower, the butterfly embodies movement and lightness. I chose a vibrant turquoise background enhanced with touches of warm yellow to evoke nature, renewal and vitality. The contrast between the bold stencil lines and the luminous background creates a dynamic yet harmonious composition. As with all my works, the butterfly was created using my double-layer stencil technique. Each detail was digitally designed and meticulously hand-cut before being applied with spray paint and acrylic. The graphic contrast highlights the structure of the wings while preserving their softness and elegance. The background was built instinctively, layer after layer, using spontaneous gestures and textures. This tension between precision and freedom defines my artistic identity — control in the stencil, instinct in the color field. Small in format but strong in symbolism, this piece speaks about evolution, resilience and the beauty of change. This is a unique, original artwork. Even if the stencil may reappear in future works, every background remains entirely one of a kind. ABOUT THE ARTIST Alexandre Petrus is a French stencil artist working between street art, digital creation and traditional craftsmanship. He designs his stencils digitally before printing and hand-cutting each layer with precision. His work is based on the dialogue between instinct and control. The stencil represents structure and mastery, while the background is spontaneous and expressive. This philosophy defines what he calls “originality in repetition.” He has created murals across France and performs live painting for weddings and corporate events, bringing urban art energy into both public and private spaces. All artworks are original pieces — no prints, no editions. SHIPPING The artwork will be carefully packaged with professional materials to ensure optimal protection. Tracked and insured shipping.
