Description from the seller
DESCRIPTION
A splendid and authentic Hereke silk carpet, masterfully crafted with exceptional workmanship and hand-knotted artistry in Turkey. Fully made of natural silk on a silk warp and weft, this rug displays the characteristic luster and refinement that distinguish the finest Hereke carpets.
The design centers around a floral vase flanked by two peacocks, symbols of beauty, prosperity, and harmony. Fine floral borders frame the central motif, rendered in a refined color palette of warm terracotta, olive green, ruby red, ivory, and gold.
This small-format rug reflects the mastery of the Hereke weavers, who have been producing silk court-quality carpets for the Ottoman palace since the 19th century. Due to its compact size and refined pattern, it is ideally suited to be shown as a decorative wall rug or tabletop piece.
