Faithful among the faithful of the Rouen School, the late Albert MALET, an outstanding pedagogue, trained many artists in this noble Impressionist movement. Among them, Jean-Pierre BORDRY, bound by friendship with MALET, naturally embraced the heritage of this school — both by the delicacy of his palette and by the finesse of his gesture and the refinement of his compositions.
BORDRY managed to bring forth a trembling divided brushstroke, animated by a fluid and assertive palette, whose singular vibration subtly combines charm and emotion. The bright seasons, the skies with mist characteristic of the Norman lanes, the changing reflections of a veiled sun… all this composes for him a vibrant and sensitive work, acclaimed by loyal fans of Impressionism.
But his gaze is not limited to Normandy alone: animated beaches, harmonious shores, landscapes bathed in light — whether Savoyard, Breton or Provençal — feed his inspiration just as much, for they offer that unique alchemy between space, sensation and light that characterizes so well his universe.
