Title: "Overpainted Echo"
Description:
Beneath the layers of white lies something that hasn’t disappeared. Colors, motions, an earlier thought still shimmer through, softly but persistently. What was covered up does not appear erased, but transformed—as if it has taken on a new language.
White is not silence. It is a hesitation, a breath between two moments. Below, red presses forward, recalling warmth, tension, something unfinished. The painting endures these opposites without resolving them.
Thus a resonance emerges that need not shout to remain perceptible. An echo of past decisions, visible in every trace. It tells of how the overpainted remains part of the present—and that every concealment is also a carry-forward.

Christoph Prein is an Austrian artist known for his abstract and contemporary works, primarily created with acrylic paints. Originating from St. Margarethen near Knittelfeld, Prein’s pieces are often characterized by a minimalist, abstract style and are carefully produced from high-quality materials to ensure vibrant colors and longevity. His art frequently engages themes of identity, memory, and the exploration of human emotions, often moving the boundaries between the visible and the invisible.
Prein’s approach to art is multidimensional, combining painting with elements of sculpture and installation. This unique style has earned him recognition in Austria and internationally, with exhibitions across Europe, North America, and Asia. His works often invite viewers to reflect on the complexities of the modern world and the deeper aspects of human experience.
For a painting measuring 200 x 100 cm, you need a stretched frame sized 190 x 90 cm with a thickness of 2-4 cm.
You can either stretch the canvas yourself or have it stretched by an art craftsman or gallery.
This is a handmade original, signed by the artist on the back and dated by year.
High-quality, lightfast acrylic paints were applied on multiple white-primed gallery canvases.
Additionally, a varnish was applied to protect the work.
This work is handmade and thus unique!
--- Authenticity certificate included ---
Beautify your private residence, law firm, practice, or office and elevate your spaces in an elegant and stylish way.
If a person ventures into their innermost depths, into a sphere that rarely comes to light, into a space that is mysterious and hidden, waiting to be discovered, tickled awake, even tormentingly reassembled, then art is born.
