AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

OVERVIEW/CONDITIONS
Splendid example of a 1956 Citroën Traction 11 BL.
Car restored 15 years ago by Vaccaro body shop of Calusco d'Adda in the province of Bergamo.
The car comes from a private collection and has stood for years indoors under a cover, so the paint has remained very well preserved. It is noted only a small scratch of a few centimeters (the garage wall) on the left rear fender. Otherwise, since the car was completely repainted, no other damages or scratches are reported.

There is not even rust, as the car has always been kept in a controlled-temperature environment. The floors have no holes or rust traces and there are no patches under the body. Given the type of car and the entirely collectible use by the old owner, the car has not undergone any accidents or damages or further repairs after restoration.

The seals of the glazing are new and in excellent condition, having also been part of the restoration. The door seals are new and work perfectly. The glazing is sound and the glass opens and closes correctly. The bumpers have no cracks or defects as do all external cromings. The rocker panels are sound and the door edge trims show no rust. Under the mats the car is sound and without repairs.

Regarding the engine, it is evident that it has also received attention during restoration. The condition of the air filter and spark plugs demonstrate the vehicle’s excellent preservation. We only had the radiator renewed, all fluids replaced, the tank cleaned and the battery replaced, and now the engine runs like clockwork and the car starts with half a turn of the key. The car has been road-tested and the brakes have not had the slightest problem. The car brakes very well. No leaks. The gears of the gearbox are smooth and engage well, and the clutch is in good condition. Although the tires are new and the car stops very well, we recommend a check of the brake pump and a tire change before constant on-road use.

Inside, the car is fully original in appearance. The upholstery is in excellent condition. The seat fabric has no tears or signs of wear and the seats are still solid. The door panels are sound and the headliner is practically new. The dashboard is pristine as are all the internal switches and levers. The interior light works and the switch on the dashboard to operate it. The instrument panel works. Under the mats the car is completely sound. The car has undergone a complete restoration, so almost all components have been replaced or renewed.

The car is a third-grade ASI Gold Plate, testifying to its originality.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
