Jaume Muñoz (1977) - things do not change we change XL

This painting belongs to my new 2026 collection, called 'WALDEN', my private homage to the great writer and thinker Henry David Thoreau. It's a series of large-format abstract landscapes that explore the vastness of mountains, forests, and open horizons. This collection of abstract paintings emerges from a desire to inhabit the landscape rather than represent it. The series explores nature not as scenery, but as an inner experience — a space of awareness and transformation. In dialogue with Thoreau’s decision to withdraw in order to listen more deeply, each work proposes a space of contemplation. I seek to translate the experience of walking alone in the woods: measured breathing, the loss of orientation, the expansion of perception. Color does not describe; it suggests temperature, humidity, density of air. The materiality of paint functions as a memory of landscape. It is shipped rolled up to minimize damage and reduce transportation costs. Unique and original painting. Signed and dated by the artist. It is sent without a frame or border. The gallery photos are mock-ups to give an idea of how the framed painting might look hanging in different environments. Colors on the screen may vary slightly from the actual colors of the paint. The fabric may exhibit waves due to the different load of material. It is recommended to take it to a specialized place to stretch it well over a frame. ABOUT THE ARTIST Jaume Muñoz (Barcelona, 1977) is a poet, painter and photographer. In his work, he explores the expressive possibilities of abstract painting, placing himself at the crossroads of chaos and order. His painting process is based on free abstract improvisation. He began painting while living in Egypt, in the open painting workshops at the Townhouse Gallery, Cairo. He held his first exhibitions there in 2007. For years, he attended the summer art residency and auction sale at the Association Saint Henri, Castelnaudary (France). He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Cairo, Berlin, Revel, Milano and Barcelona. Instagram: @artjaumemunoz
