Technics - SL-1710 Record player

Beautiful, in excellent condition, TECHNICS SL-1710 HiFi turntable. This has been tested and has successfully undergone a 24-hour endurance test. Everything on the turntable works perfectly and has been carefully tested. Furthermore, everything is factory original TECHNICS. It plays with the original cartridge as delivered from the factory. The turntable is otherwise entirely original and has never been worked on; even the dust cover is like new. No cracks, never cleaned or polished. Only very light signs of use, barely visible scratches from record sleeves that have rested on it. The period it has been stored, it was wrapped in foil with the platter in a towel. In short, it has been handled with extreme care. Connected to an amplifier with RIAA input, there is absolutely no hum to be heard.

Here are some details of the SL-1710, which nearly has the same specifications as the more expensive version, the SL-1200. Also Direct Drive, i.e., a beltless-driven system with a brushless motor. The whole unit “hangs” in a sub-chassis to prevent contact noises etc. For stability, the platter is very heavy (1.5 kg). The speed is controlled and stabilized by a motor control chip designed by TECHNICS themselves. Furthermore, the lightweight tonearm is partly the “heart” of the turntable where all the in- and adjustments revolve around, namely the tracking force and anti-skating. Everything is robustly designed for overall stability and thus the perfect reproduction of your valuable vinyl.

On the platter sits the order number for a replacement needle. (see photo) If you want to lubricate the spindle, you may only use the specially designed oil (available online under article number SFW0010) so NOT, for example, sewing machine oil!! If you proceed to buy, I will ship it insured and well-packaged unless you pick it up. I can supply a user manual in PDF format on request. It contains all the necessary data and adjustments.
