Description: Constructing Dreams No:004’ is part of my ongoing series exploring the architecture of the subconscious. In this piece, I weave together fragments of memory, imagination, and symbolism—each compartment a window into a different layer of the dream world. The interplay of bold geometric shapes and softer, more ambiguous forms invites viewers to navigate their own interpretations, moving between clarity and mystery. I’m fascinated by how dreams construct meaning from chaos, and this work reflects that tension: doors and windows suggest possibility and confinement, while the vibrant palette energizes the narrative. Every section is a story in itself, yet together they form a tapestry of the mind’s inner landscape. What do you see in your own dreams? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this piece and the series as a whole. Artist Bio: Okorodudu is a self-taught visual artist born in Delta State, Nigeria, and raised in Benin City. With a background in art education and administration from Delta State University, Okorodudu’s practice spans landscape, portrait, abstract, and figurative painting, as well as sculpture, textile/fashion, digital art, and performing art. Now based in the UK, the artist draws inspiration from expressionism and abstraction, focusing on the interplay of harmony and chaos, light and shadow, and color and form. Okorodudu’s intuitive, expressive process seeks to connect with viewers both emotionally and visually, reflecting a deep commitment to creative exploration and visual storytelling. Selected Exhibitions: 2024: “Transcending Boundaries,” Royal Society of British Artists, London, UK 2024: “Diaspora Dialogues,” The Art House, Manchester, UK 2017: “Emerging Visions,” Benin City Art Fair, Nigeria 2013: “New Voices in Contemporary African Art,” National Museum, Lagos, Nigeria
