Description from the seller
Chiavari Luigi Filippo Napoletano Half of the 19th Century, in Mahogany with Carrara Marble
Elegant Luigi Filippo commode of Neapolitan manufacture dating to the mid-19th century, made of mahogany and characterized by flowing, harmonious lines typical of the period. The front features four wide contoured drawers, framed by molded edges and original turned knobs, with central keyholes.
The structure is enhanced by carved front uprights with embossed vegetal motifs that terminate in substantial rounded feet, lending solidity and elegance to the ensemble. The undulating contour of the facade adds lightness and refinement to the composition.
The top is made of fine Carrara marble, shaped and perfectly integrated with the line of the piece, an element that increases its prestige and functionality. Inside, the drawers show dovetail joints, a testimony to the artisanal craftsmanship of the era. The back is solid wood with a period-consistent structure.
