Description from the seller
Born in 1977, Jone Hopper is a French artist.
Towards the end of the 1980s, he did his 'apprenticeships' on the street through an emerging movement at the time, graffiti. He tags his name on the street, on walls and on trains. Recognized for his characters and his aerosol signatures, he creates the collective TBS (The Brutal Style) with Skepa and a few other engaged graffiti artists. We know little about him because the artist remains faithful to the spirit of graffiti and wishes to stay anonymous, believing that it is the work that should be highlighted and not the person. Absent from social networks, absent from openings, a faceless artist, he remains a true mystery except for a few gallery owners in confidence. He compares his painting to a piece of Hip Hop, drawing from Basquiat, Keith Haring, Picasso, Matisse, Andy Warhol or even Bacon, drawing from all pictorial currents, from Modern to Contemporary art, passing through Classical, he acts as a sampler... samples, cuts, assembles and thus creates new images.
- Mixed media: aerosol, pastel and acrylic on canvas
- With certificate of authenticity
