Object Description
Elegant and refined Ballot Notebook (Carnet de Bal) dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, a splendid example of a worldly accessory from the Belle Époque.
The item features an ivory-colored celluloid cover, a material avant-garde at the time and of great value, finely decorated with silver inlays and mother-of-pearl applications. The floral decoration, with tendrils and leaves, is in full Art Nouveau (Liberty) style, characterized by sinuous and naturalistic lines.
Interior and Historical Content
The interior is lined with fine original pink silk, with compartments that still retain the charm of the era.
Pages: the original note sheets for recording dances are present.
Closure: Equipped with a side loop for a pencil (not present).
