MALDIVES. 50 Laari. 1960.
- Value: 50 Laari.
- Year: 1960 (AH 1379).

Reverse: value 50 in Latin and Arabic characters, surrounded by Arabic inscription corresponding to the state.
- Grade: MS62 (NGC).
Copper-bronze alloy circular coin with a milled edge, belonging to the monetary series introduced in the Maldives in 1960. The obverse presents a symbolic composition of strong national identity, combining the palm as island emblem with the crescent and star of Islamic tradition, all executed in a sober and well-balanced style, with crisp relief and correctly centered. The reverse shows the face value highlighted in large size, accompanied by clearly defined Arabic legends. An example with appreciable original luster, relatively clean fields and a uniform golden-toned patina, with slight contact marks consistent with the grade, offering a very attractive visual presence.
