Lot composed of 5 original Italian sports newspapers published between 1949 and 1953, dedicated to the great protagonists of post-war cycling, in particular Fausto Coppi and Gino Bartali.
They are historical front pages that recount some of the most iconic feats in world cycling, among the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and the World Championship.
The lot includes:
• Tuttosport – 31 August 1953
“Fausto Coppi world champion” – title dedicated to Coppi’s victory at the World Championship in Lugano.
• La Gazzetta dello Sport – 19 July 1949
“Bartali and Coppi dominant on the Alps” – historic Alpine stage of the Tour de France 1949.
• Tuttosport – 26 June 1951
“Fausto Coppi is back!” – report of the victory in the Giro’s time trial.
• Tuttosport – 16 July 1949
article on the Nîmes–Marseille stage of the Tour de France.
