Description from the seller

King George V and Queen Mary held a lavish Delhi Durbar on December 12, 1911, to celebrate their coronation as Emperor and Empress of India. The tapestry was commissioned in 1884 and presented in Delhi 11th December 1911. The tapestry has been in my family since that time. I was a little boy and my first memory of seeing the tapestry was 60 years ago.

The tapestry depicting the battle honors of the 92nd Gordon Highlanders from India and Egypt.

Tapestry Dimensions.

L 740 (29.13 In)
H 645 (25.39) In)

The tapestry has never been opened, modified in any way and is in good condition. Note that the tapestry had a paper document attached to the back, however as there had been no work carried out, the pasted paper had perished over time.

My grandfather was injured and medically discharged 3 times from the Gordon Highlanders. However my grandfather rejoined the Gordon Highlanders after each discharge and upon his recovery from injury.
