Elegant Louis XV style side table / writing desk – Walnut burl veneer – France – ca. 1920
Description
Elegant sideboard/desk executed in Louis XV style, manufactured in France around the mid-20th century.
The piece stands on graceful cabriole legs with subtle claw feet and has a characteristic curved front of the drawer with original Rococo hardware in a bronze-tone finish.
The proportions are refined and balanced, typical of French revival furniture from this period.
The top is finished in beautiful walnut burl veneer with a warm, vibrant grain.
The raised gallery edge around the top gives the piece extra character and functionality. The central drawer is lined on the inside with green felt and opens smoothly.
A stylish piece of furniture that works equally well as a writing desk, hall table, or decorative sideboard.
Condition
Good overall condition with normal signs of wear appropriate to age.
Light wear to edges and top visible, no structural defects.
Construction is stable.
