czech porcelain - unknown - Dinner service (25) - Porcelain
European porcelain service, produced in the Bohemian region (present-day Czech Republic) and attributable to the former Austro-Hungarian Empire, late 19th – early 20th century.
The porcelain features a hard white body of good quality, with a restrained decoration of red line borders and clean geometric forms, characteristic of Bohemian production of the period. Presence of a silver line. The lines and volumes display a rational formal language, attributable to an early proto-Art Deco phase.
The underglaze mark bears the inscription “Échantillons originaux français”, to be understood as a commercial indication.
The symbol depicting a stylised castle is a commercial-type mark, without direct attribution to a specific factory.
Condition consistent with age, with normal signs of time.
The service includes 6 soup plates and 5 flat plates, together with various serving pieces, as shown in the photographs.
