The side decorations tie it to the religious confraternities of southern Italy, whose members often appeared hooded in processions. The front decoration with the skull represents the classic memento mori, a religious and pagan theme of respecting the remaining time aimed at good conduct. Original fittings and in good condition. The rear grip/handle is 11 cm long and allows you to carry the almoner around the mansion, perhaps astonishing your guests with alms from bygone times.
