Walking stick - .925 silver - Birmingham, 1905

An elegant Edwardian walking cane fitted with a sterling silver collar hallmarked for Birmingham, 1905, bearing clear British assay marks including the lion passant and anchor, firmly dating the piece to the early 20th century. The handle is made of natural horn, smoothly shaped into a classic crook form with attractive colour variation and a softly polished surface developed through age and handling. Light surface marks and gentle wear are consistent with period use and enhance the authentic Edwardian character. The black-stained hardwood shaft is straight, well balanced and shows surface wear commensurate with age. The silver collar is finely engraved with flowing decorative motifs, now softly worn, giving the cane a refined yet honest appearance. A rubber ferrule is present, indicating continued practical use. A strong and collectible example of an Edwardian silver-mounted walking cane, valued for its early date, horn handle and original components. Good antique condition. General wear throughout consistent with age and use, including surface wear to the horn handle, silver collar and shaft. Rubber ferrule present and serviceable. No structural damage observed.
