Box regulator clock - Gustav Becker - Wood, Brass - 1920-1930

Gustav Becker Wall Clock – Silesia – circa 1928–1932 Elegant Gustav Becker wall clock, produced in Silesia (Germany) around 1928–1932, in a classic wooden case with subtle late Art Nouveau / early Art Deco influences. The clock retains its original signed Gustav Becker movement (“GB – Silesia” with crown) confirming authentic production by the renowned German clockmaker Gustav Becker. The movement is additionally marked “P48”, indicating a classic 8-day wall clock movement, typical for Gustav Becker interwar production. The clock is fully functional and equipped with a coil gong producing a pleasant, deep sound. It strikes the full hours according to the hour and once on the half hour. The wooden case is well proportioned and decorative, featuring turned side columns and a subtle carved pediment. The clock has a convex upper glass and a bevelled (faceted) lower glass panel, a detail usually found on higher quality models of the period. The clock retains its original metal dial with classic Arabic numerals and original blackened steel hands, consistent with Gustav Becker clocks from the early 20th century. The dial is protected by a glazed bezel and the original winding key is included. With its generous size and elegant proportions, this clock is both a decorative interior piece and an authentic collector’s item from the early 20th century. Dimensions: Height: 78 cm (30.7 in) Width: 39 cm (15.4 in) Depth: 17 cm (6.7 in) Dial diameter: 18 cm (7.1 in) Condition consistent with age. The clock is original and in working order, with a charming sound from the original gong.
