Two antique walking sticks from circa 1900–1910, made of wood and each with a natural deer horn handle and a decorative metal ring, one in blackthorn with dark knots and the other in polished hardwood, both from the United Kingdom and standing about 87 cm tall with a 10 cm width and 1 cm depth.
Description from the seller
Two lovely antique walking sticks from the early 20th century, both featuring a naturally formed deer antler (horn) handle and a decorative metal transition ring.
The first walking stick is made from blackthorn (sloe wood), recognizable by the characteristic dark knots along the entire length of the stick. This type of stick was traditionally made in Ireland and England and is known for its great hardness and durability.
The second walking stick has a smooth, polished hardwood shaft with an elegant, slender form. This stick also features a naturally formed deer antler handle and a decorative metal ring.
Both sticks display a beautiful patina appropriate to their age and together form an attractive decorative pair for collectors of antique walking sticks, hunting accessories, or gentleman’s canes.
