2 Vintage metal money boxes / document boxes – with keys – 20th century

Lot of two authentic metal money boxes / document boxes from the 20th century. These practical and decorative secure boxes were formerly used for storing money, documents and other valuable papers.

The larger box is a green hammered-finish document- or money box with red interior and a key. This box comes with an original test certificate from American Testing Laboratories (New York) from 1954, describing a fire test. The box was tested up to temperatures of about 500°F (approx. 260°C), at which the contents remained protected. This type was used for securely storing important documents.

The second box is an older metal money box with a nice industrial patina. The box has a red interior and a classic key mechanism. This type was often used in shops or market stalls for cash.

Both boxes have a robust metal construction and a distinctive vintage look.

Condition
Good used vintage condition with signs of use and patina appropriate to age. Keys present. See photos for a full picture of the condition.
