Description from the seller
Anton Heyboer (1924-2005)
Due to his unconventional way of life, Anton Heyboer belonged to the most eccentric Dutch artists of the past decades. His turbulent lifestyle manifested itself in a number of five marriages. He also described himself as 'the Robin Hood of the art world', referring to his high output of art. Heyboer was trained as a mechanical engineer. After World War II he began drawing, though still in a traditional style. Between 1954 and 1957 he developed his own philosophical framework on the basis of which his abstract artworks emerged. Yet in his paintings and etchings there are always figurative elements present. He also clarified the themes of his work with texts, in which human relationships often play a role.
Dimensions with frame: 53 x 53 cm
Dimensions without frame: 27 x 27 cm
Framed work.
Viewing is of course possible. In addition we have our own in-house framery, celebrating its 85th anniversary this year. Furthermore we use restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, of course we would be happy to hear.
