The Oriental Dancer

Lucien Simon, born July 18, 1961 in Paris and died in Sainte- Marine on October 13, 1945, is a French painter, watercolorist, draughtsman, and lithographer. The years 1900-1920 mark the peak of Lucien Simon’s career. His fame led him to travel a lot and he participated in several international exhibitions. The State bought his paintings (The Procession, 1901, Paris, Musée d’Orsay), as did Japanese, European and American museums and renowned foreign collectors.
In 1900, Lucien Simon won the gold medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris and was named a knight of the Legion of Honor.
