Description from the seller
Beautiful piece by Eleonora Stol. The colors are so vibrant and jump off the canvas. It is mixed media on canvas.
Eleonora Stol (Leiden, 1946 – 2022), also known as ‘La Roja’, was described as “the timeless paintress of colourful life.” Art was for her the essential means to bring positivity and color into homes and exhibitions. Her work still enlivens interiors around the world and often serves as the focal point in a room.
Her paintings are characterized by a recognizable hand, playful use of color, and a fantastical, sometimes challenging imagination.
Anton Martineau wrote about her work: “Through a renewal on the surrealist base plane, a world emerges in which dream and reality intermingle and love is central. The work draws you in and does not let go; you are carried along in a surge of intense emotional movement.”
