Description from the seller
This concerns a silkscreen of a fruit bowl by José Morea (Chiva, Valencia, 1951–2020). Morea was one of the leading artists within the Valencia art scene and played a significant role in the renewal of painting in the last third of the 20th century. He was known for his versatile and 'nomadic' style.
His own words sum up his work well: “I do not feel the need to hold on to anything or to be the person one expects; I must be who I want to be.” (José Morea in conversation with Chimo Lara, Grito Gallery catalog, Barcelona, 1985). His work is included in various museums and public collections, including the Museo Reina Sofía (Madrid), the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona, IVAM (Valencia), the Museum of Contemporary Art (Recife, Brazil), the Museum of Contemporary Art of Bagheria (Sicily), the Coca-Cola Foundation (Madrid) and the Fundación Telefónica (Madrid).
Dimensions: 76 x 112 cm
Dimensions with frame: 87 x 122 cm
Viewing is, of course, possible. In addition, we have our own in-house framers, celebrating their 85th anniversary year. We also make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to use this service, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
