Offered is a set of four original 19th-century engravings after the celebrated French illustrator Gustave Doré, published in 1884.

Doré is widely regarded as one of the greatest illustrators of the 19th century, famous for his dramatic and highly detailed engravings illustrating the Bible, Dante’s Divine Comedy, and other classical works. His powerful compositions and masterful use of light and shadow made these images some of the most recognizable book illustrations of the era.
